On November 27th, the 2025 China Stainless Steel Industry Annual Conference and the China Stainless Steel Industry Development Conference were held in Foshan, Guangdong. The conference was guided by the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA), hosted by the CISA Stainless Steel Branch, and organized by Hongwang Holdings Group. Representatives from industry enterprises, local governments, and associations attended the conference and exchanged views on the high-quality development of the stainless steel industry.

Xia Nong, Vice President of CISA, pointed out at the conference that the stainless steel industry, as an important component of the high-quality development of China's steel industry, plays a key supporting role in serving major national projects and technological equipment. Currently, against the backdrop of overall oversupply in the steel industry, stainless steel production capacity is still expanding, capacity utilization is low, homogeneous competition is intensifying, and vicious "involution" competition has emerged in some areas, leading to a significant decline in corporate profits and posing challenges to the industry's sustainable development. He emphasized that the stainless steel industry has a relatively high concentration and is well-positioned to take the lead in regulating competition and strengthening self-discipline. In this regard, he put forward four suggestions: first, strengthen industry self-discipline and resist vicious competition; second, adhere to innovation-driven development and increase product added value; third, promote energy conservation and carbon reduction to achieve green development; and fourth, deepen industrial chain collaboration and actively cultivate the domestic market.

Chen Ji, a member of the Party Leadership Group of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, stated that Guangdong has included the stainless steel industry in its key development of advanced materials industrial clusters, aiming to build a globally competitive industrial hub. Currently, the stainless steel industry is accelerating its transformation towards refinement, high-end development, and green practices. Guangdong will leverage the upgrading of traditional industries and the development of emerging industries to create more opportunities for the stainless steel sector. 

Ding Xifeng, a member of the Standing Committee of the Foshan Municipal Party Committee and Minister of the United Front Work Department, introduced that Foshan has become one of the largest stainless steel processing and trading centers in China. In recent years, it has continuously promoted the development of strategic industries such as new materials. In the future, it will focus on manufacturing to support enterprise innovation and transformation.

In his address, Dai Cuhui, Chairman and President of Hongwang Holdings Group, stated that the group has been deeply involved in the metal materials field for over 30 years, with businesses covering stainless steel, silicon steel, and titanium alloys. Moving forward, the group will continue to collaborate with industry partners to jointly promote the advancement of China's new metal materials industry. 

At the meeting, Zhou Zhuoli, rotating chairperson of the Stainless Steel Branch of the China Iron and Steel Association, delivered the annual work report, and Secretary-General Liu Yanping reported on the branch's work and announced relevant resolutions. During the event, attendees witnessed the opening ceremony of the Hongwang Holdings Group headquarters.

This conference focused on the current state and future path of the industry, building consensus for promoting the healthy, green, and sustainable development of the stainless steel industry.
