Recently, Beigang New Materials, a subsidiary of Beibu Gulf Port Group, made a significant breakthrough in marine steel products—the first batch of 57 tons of S30408 marine-grade stainless steel plates was officially delivered. These plates will be used in manufacturing key components for demonstration vessels on the Pinglu Canal. This milestone signifies Beigang New Materials' successful transition from R&D to mass production for this product, injecting new “Beigang strength” into China's shipbuilding industry chain.

As a core material in shipbuilding, the performance of S30408 directly impacts the reliability and lifespan of critical components. Through precise carbon-nitrogen element control and dual-refining processes, Beigang New Materials has endowed this material with outstanding low-temperature resistance and seawater corrosion resistance, meeting the demands of complex offshore environments.

To align with the Pinglu Canal demonstration vessel's design philosophy of “safety, energy efficiency, environmental friendliness, intelligence, and home-like comfort,” Beigang New Materials collaborated with NanHua Group and Beigang Jingxing to establish a service system featuring “customized demand—full-process coordination—precise delivery.” Addressing the stringent requirements for flatness, weldability, and dimensional accuracy in marine steel, a customized processing solution was developed. This includes optimized rolling parameters, high-precision shearing technology, and the establishment of a “steel mill-shipyard” collaboration platform. This platform enables real-time sharing of production progress and quality data, effectively shortening the shipbuilding cycle and enhancing manufacturing efficiency.

This successful mass production not only demonstrates Beigang New Materials' capabilities in full-chain technology for specialty stainless steel but also marks a breakthrough from zero to one in the marine steel sector. By directly engaging with shipyards, the company can swiftly respond to customized demands, enhance delivery efficiency, and establish stable cooperative mechanisms.
