On November 15, the first coil of finished grain-oriented silicon steel from the No. 4 rolling mill in the rolling mill area of Lianyuan Steel Electromagnetic Materials Company successfully rolled off the production line. This marks a key leap for the Hunan high-grade grain-oriented silicon steel industry chain to achieve "Hunan-made" production, and further fills the gap in high-end electrical steel in Central and Southern China. It provides core material support for downstream industries such as power transmission and transformation, and new energy vehicles.
Guided by the national "dual carbon" strategy and the "Action Plan for High-Quality Development of New Materials Industry", high magnetic induction and thin-gauge silicon steel have been listed as key areas for breakthroughs.
The Hunan Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government simultaneously issued the "Several Policy Measures to Support the High-Quality Development of the Advanced Materials Industry in Loudi City," positioning silicon steel as the core track of the "Materials Valley" and providing full-element guarantees in terms of land use, energy use, capital, and talent, striving to create a silicon steel industry cluster worth hundreds of billions of yuan during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period.
Riding the wave of favorable policies, Lianyuan Steel Electromagnetic Materials Co., Ltd. is targeting high-grade, thin-gauge products, integrating the advantages of efficient, intelligent, and green manufacturing. Once the project reaches full production capacity, it will drive Loudi to form a complete industrial chain of "substrate-oriented silicon steel - transformer/motor", providing a new "steel engine" for Hunan to build a nationally important advanced manufacturing highland.
