The CGL galvanizing line's core installation project has passed all special acceptance tests, and the project has officially entered the single-unit trial operation phase.
According to relevant personnel from Shougang Construction No. 1 Metallurgical Construction Branch, the local temperature difference between day and night exceeds 20 degrees Celsius, which makes the ultra-high steel structure components prone to irreversible temperature deformation; the overlapping of multiple professional operations; and the requirement for millimeter-level tolerance control in the installation of core equipment all exponentially increase the difficulty of construction. Faced with a complex situation, the Party Committee of Shougang Construction No. 1 Metallurgical Construction Branch established a special team to tackle technical challenges. Based on a systematic summary of past overseas project experience, the team resolutely abandoned the inertia of "copying domestic experience" and focused on the actual situation on the North African site. They used technological innovation to solve bottleneck problems and refined management to improve efficiency, turning many industry-recognized "impossible tasks" into tangible results of timely contract fulfillment.
The company has built a new system of modular ground assembly and staggered zoning operations. Relying on BIM technology, it has broken down hoisting units and transferred a large number of high-altitude processes to the ground. It has also innovated a mechanism of "dynamic site replacement and staggered two-shift connection" to systematically solve the problem of prefabrication of large metallurgical components in confined spaces, thereby improving overall construction efficiency by 40%. For structures such as the 72-meter ultra-high cooling tower, the project team developed a layered prefabrication and hoisting process, which strictly controls the deviation within 2 millimeters, reducing the total amount of high-altitude operations by 70% and safety risks by 65%. The project team also used zoned assembly line precision construction technology to ensure that the construction of the annealing furnace in the TOSYALI Phase V cold-rolled galvanizing project achieved millimeter-level precision control requirements for many indicators, far exceeding industry standards.
The TOSYALI Phase V cold-rolled galvanizing project is a key industrial cooperation benchmark project under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative jointly built by China and Arab countries.
