Recently, Shanxi Gaoyi Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. successfully completed the hot commissioning of its 3-million-ton-per-year 1200mm continuous strip mill production line in a single attempt. This milestone marks the project's official entry into trial production, injecting new momentum into the company's transformation and upgrading efforts.
As a key initiative in Gaoyi Steel's transition from traditional construction steel to high-end manufacturing steel, this production line not only expands the range of product specifications but also enhances the company's precision service capabilities for downstream markets. The line's construction advanced comprehensively across three core directions: high-end specialization, intelligent automation, and green manufacturing.

In terms of high-end development, the production line employs a 1200mm continuous strip rolling process for wide-band steel, supported by core equipment such as a four-machine, four-strand continuous casting machine. It focuses on niche market demands to ensure product precision and quality meet diverse application scenarios.
Regarding intelligent manufacturing, the integration of automated control systems, smart detection devices, and digital management platforms enables intelligent coordination across the entire production-to-management chain, significantly enhancing production efficiency and market responsiveness.
For environmental sustainability, the line employs a 100% waste heat recovery system alongside eco-friendly facilities including low-nitrogen combustion heaters, high-efficiency desulfurization and denitrification units, and plastic-coated plate dust collectors. Thermal energy from the rolling process is fully recycled, with all emission metrics exceeding national ultra-low emission standards, establishing it as a benchmark for green, low-carbon production.

The successful commissioning of this production line not only enhances Gaoyi Steel's product portfolio but also lays a solid foundation for extending and strengthening the industrial chain through subsequent deep-processing projects such as cold rolling and galvanizing.
