Ranking of the World’s Top 50 Steel Producers by Output in 2025

The World Steel Association recently published its journal “World Steel Statistics 2026”, which includes a ranking of crude steel production and production figures for the world’s leading steel producers in 2025. According to this ranking, China Baowu tops the list with 120 million tonnes, whilst AnsteelHBISShagangJianlong Group and Delong Group feature in the global top ten.

In addition, the journal provides a comprehensive overview of the latest trends in the steel industry through a range of other statistical data, covering major global steel producers and producing countries, steel demand, production processes and trade.

Below is a ranking of global companies from the World Steel Association that made more than 3 million tonnes of crude steel in 2025. This list is updated in early June every year.
Tonnage is expressed in million tonnes (Mt).

Notes on company ownership and tonnage calculations:
For worldsteel members, the data was sourced from their official tonnage declarations. In case of more than 50% ownership, 100% of the subsidiary’s tonnage is included, unless specified otherwise. In cases of 30%-50% ownership, pro-rata tonnage is included. Unless otherwise specified in the declaration, less than 30% ownership is considered a minority and therefore, not included. Figures represent ownership ending 31 December 2025.
