Recently, the project "Research and Application of Key Common Technologies for the Preparation of High-quality Blade Steel for Thermal Power Generation" jointly developed by the Institute and Panchangte and other units has passed the scientific and technological achievement appraisal of the Sichuan Metal Society. The evaluation committee composed of academicians unanimously agreed that the overall technology of the project has reached the international advanced level, among which the Al and Si content control technology of blade steel has reached the international leading level.

In order to promote the localization process of high-quality blade steel and improve the quality stability control of a series of high-end blade steels, Pansteel carried out research on key control technologies for high-quality blade steel in 2019, focusing on the three common problems of "clean smelting technology of low Si and low Al blade steel", "stable control technology of trace B elements" and "full-process precipitation phase regulation technology". A complete set of technologies for clean smelting of high-quality blade steel for thermal power generation, stable control of trace elements B, and full-process precipitation phase regulation have been formed.

During the research and development of this project, 7 national invention patents were authorized, 14 academic papers were published, 9 enterprise proprietary technologies were published, and 1 national standard was drafted and revised. At present, this set of technology has been widely promoted and applied in Panchangte, realizing the industrialized stable production of a series of high-quality and high-end blade steel and partial domestic substitution. The series of blade steel produced by this project has been widely used in various types of thermal power coal-fired units, with good results, significantly improving the R&D and manufacturing capabilities of major domestic energy equipment and the market competitiveness of products, and effectively promoting the comprehensive localization of key components of the country's heavy equipment.
