Recently, Fushun New Steel's Grade280, Grade420, and Grade550 series rebar products successfully passed the authoritative certification of the Saudi Arabian Standards Organization (SASO), fully meeting the core technical requirements of the SASO ASTM A615 standard, and successfully obtained the "access pass" to enter the Saudi market. It is worth noting that the company has become the first rebar producer in China to obtain this certification. This milestone breakthrough marks a key step in its internationalization strategy and lays a solid foundation for cultivating core markets along the Belt and Road Initiative.
As the largest construction market in the Middle East, Saudi Arabia is accelerating infrastructure upgrades based on its "Vision 2030" initiative. A flurry of projects, including real estate development, large-scale stadium construction, and smart city development, is driving a continuous increase in the annual demand for high-quality rebar, indicating huge market potential. However, the country has extremely high market access thresholds, setting stringent standards for indicators such as chemical composition, mechanical properties, and dimensional tolerances of rebar products. Taking the GR80 specification as an example, it clearly requires a yield strength of not less than 550MPa, a tensile strength of not less than 690MPa, and no cracks in the 180-degree cold bending test. All core indicators are indispensable, posing a severe test to the product strength of enterprises.
